Our Little Wigwam

Okay, so here is an update on everything that’s going on:)  I say wigwam because Alan and I are learning Potawatomi right now.  It’s the language of his tribe and there is a free online course so we are taking it.  It is fun because we get to use words like wigwam!

We got our little cottage by the river which we love.  We go fishing almost every night and play on the river almost every day:)  It’s nice to have something really close, and free to do when we are bored.

Alan got a job offer with a security company to go to Texas or New Orleans to help with security and clean up from the hurricane.  After much deliberation and stress over the matter we decided that moving to a different state was change enough for now:)  He would’ve been gone off and on for 6 months (1 month gone, 1 week back, and so on) and the money would’ve been really good but it just didn’t work out in the end.  He is waiting to hear back about a maintenance job that pays pretty well so we’re crossing our fingers.

Anyway, not much else new.  Just applying and applying and hoping someone will call us back soon about jobs.

We love and miss you all and we’ll post more often:)

Changes Come

Well, it is official.  Four days after finding out that we’re being forced to move from our home in Provo, UT we’ve come to the decision to move to Boise, ID.  It took a lot of deliberating and decision making but we feel that it definitely is the best option right now.  It will open doors to better jobs and schooling opportunities, and will be a nice change.

For now we’re looking for jobs and housing in the Boise area, if anybody has any ideas or suggestions on where to look or who to talk to, that would be very helpful:)  Maybe we can enlist some of you who are already in the area to check out a few apartments for us. 

All in all, it’s been a pretty crazy few days, but we both feel relieved to have made the decision, and excited for our new little adventure:)

One Year And Couldn’t Be Happier

Well its now the evening of July 7th, 2008 and it has been one year since we got married.  It has been so wonderful and so special.  There is nothing more that we could ever want than to be with eachother and be so very happy. 

Today we slept in and loved it.  When we woke up we decided that we were going to start a new tradition that we actually started the day we were married.  After we were married and done with the ceremony, we were so very hungry because we didn’t have breakfast that morning so we decided that we would stop at the BK and get some food while on our way to the reception.  So this morning after waking up and getting dressed, we went to the BK and got food, same as we did the first day we were married.  

After doing this and going home to eat, we decided that we would just take the day real easy and relax.  The afternoon got real warm so we decided that we would go in the back yard and play with our slip-n-slide.  We will post pictures of this wonderful activity as soon as we can remember to take the camera outside with us.  Tomorrow we plan to get up nice and early and go play some paintball with our friends.  We will do our very best to post some pictures of us doing that just as soon as we can.

And So It Begins . . .

Well, here we are.  We knew that sometime soon we would have to start a blog so here goes nothing.  It sure beats sending out a paper newsletter every few months:)

This weekend we are celebrating our first year anniversary so that’s pretty exciting.  We’re not doing much other than taking a 5 day weekend and spending all of our time together.  Can’t complain:)
